The Bookish Shoot with Bry
This is the story of a girl, who cried a river and drowned the whole world… Oh wait, that’s not right. This is definitely not that story. This story is way more fun! This is a story of a girl who loves books. So much so that in high school she dreamed of being a big fancy book editor in New York City! But as time went on and graduation drew closer, she set her sights on a job that may not be as glamourous, but is non the less [in my opinion] way more impactful! She became a teacher! And not just any teacher, but a MIDDLE SCHOOL teacher! Because we all know that middle school is definitely some of the hardest times in school. But Bry - or Miss Woodson as she’s known to her students - spends each day bringing literature alive to budding, energetic, slightly crazy kids.
So when I had an idea for a fun photo shoot that was centered around books, I knew that she’d be the perfect focus of it. And luckily for me she was on board with my proposed shenanigans.
This was my first time shooting at the beautiful Contrast RVA! It was the perfect spot for this session and I look forward to future sessions there!
Books, coffee, music on a record player, laughing and dancing and just catching up made for such a fun session! Sometimes you need to do something just because it’s fun! This session sparked my creativity and helped me remember why I love photography so much!
Thanks Bry for being an amazing friend and for trying to instill the next generation with the same love books as we have!
What is your favorite book or series? Do you mix up the genres that you read or stick with the same one? I’d love to know what you’re reading!
